- The second spiritual hindrance is religion. Religion is something that can quickly distract us from God's word, as it can lead us down a path of legalism. We must learn to be aware of the beliefs that we hold and be sure to only hold to beliefs that are true according to the Bible.
- The third spiritual hindrance to be aware of is stubbornness. We must learn to have an open heart and mind to the Lord's calling and be willing to follow His path for our lives. The Lord can do amazing things when we are willing to follow Him.
- The fourth spiritual hindrance to consider is rebelliousness. We must learn to be obedient to the Lord and His callings, even when it can be difficult. Rebelliousness can lead us down a path of destruction, so it's important to actively seek the Lord's will and be obedient to it.
- The fifth spiritual hindrance to be aware of is witchcraft. Witchcraft can easily lead us down a path of destruction and can keep us from the truth. We must be sure to identify and stay away from any teachings that can lead us away from the truth.
Development
Once we have removed any spiritual and physical hindrances, we must begin to actively seek the Spirit and His gifts. The first step in developing the prophetic gifts is to receive the gifts through prayer, prophecy, and impartation. We must pray and ask the Lord to fill us with the gifts of the Spirit, and to impart these gifts to us.
